Introduction

At Globalgood, we are committed to the highest standards of integrity, ethical behaviour, and accountability in all our operations. As a nonprofit organization, we understand the importance of earning and maintaining the trust of our stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, donors, beneficiaries, partners, and the communities we serve. This Code of Conduct is designed to guide the behaviour of everyone involved with Globalgood, ensuring that our actions align with our core values and mission to create positive, sustainable change in the world.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all individuals and entities associated with Globalgood, including employees, board members, volunteers, contractors, consultants, third-party agents, donors, and partners. It serves as a baseline for ethical behaviour in all of our activities and interactions, both internal and external, and ensures that we uphold the mission of Globalgood through actions that are ethical, transparent, and aligned with our values.

  1. Integrity and Honesty
    We are committed to acting with integrity in all of our dealings, both internally and externally. We believe that trust is the cornerstone of effective collaboration, and as such, transparency, accountability, and truthfulness are vital to our work. All members of the Globalgood community must act with honesty in their interactions and be fully transparent in their decision-making processes. We acknowledge that our actions must always reflect the values we uphold.
  2. Respect for People
    We recognize and value the inherent dignity of every individual. We commit to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where everyone—regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or any other characteristic—is treated with respect, courtesy, and fairness. Behavioural Expectations

  1. Respectful Workplace
    Every individual associated with Globalgood is expected to contribute to a respectful and positive work environment. This includes treating all others with respect, maintaining open lines of communication, and addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally. Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, and individuals are encouraged to report any such behaviour through appropriate channels.
  2. Conflict of Interest
    Employees, volunteers, contractors, board members, and others associated with Globalgood must avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise their objectivity or loyalty to the organization. If a conflict arises, individuals are required to disclose it immediately. Globalgood will take appropriate steps to address and resolve any conflicts of interest in a manner that maintains the integrity of the organization.
  3. Honesty in Reporting
    Transparency and honesty are vital in all reporting activities. All members of the Globalgood community are expected to provide accurate, truthful, and timely reports regarding activities, financial transactions, achievements, and any challenges encountered. Misleading or fraudulent reporting, either internally or externally, will not be tolerated.
  4. Ethical Decision-Making
    When faced with ethical dilemmas, all individuals associated with Globalgood are expected to make decisions that align with our values and principles. This includes weighing the potential impacts of decisions on stakeholders and ensuring that decisions are made with integrity, fairness, and transparency.
  5. Use of Resources
    Resources entrusted to Globalgood by donors, volunteers, and partners must be used solely for their intended purpose. We commit to maximizing the impact of every resource by using funds and assets efficiently and responsibly. Any misuse of funds, misappropriation of resources, or failure to meet stewardship obligations is a serious violation of this Code of Conduct.
  6. Protection of Vulnerable Populations
    All individuals who work with vulnerable populations must understand their responsibility to protect the safety, dignity, and well-being of the people they serve. This includes taking steps to ensure that individuals are not exploited, abused, or harmed in any way. Globalgood will take all necessary precautions to safeguard the rights and welfare of vulnerable groups.
  7. Non-Exploitation and Fair Compensation
    All employees, contractors, and volunteers must be fairly compensated for their work. Globalgood believes in fair Labor practices, and no person working with or for Globalgood should be subjected to unfair wages, unsafe working conditions, or any form of exploitation. The organization is committed to providing fair compensation that is consistent with the market standards and in line with the laws of the region.
  8. Reporting and Accountability
    Globalgood encourages individuals to report any violations of this Code of Conduct. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. We are committed to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation and fostering a culture of accountability. Reports can be made through designated channels, including an internal reporting system or a designated email address (if applicable).

Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously. Disciplinary action may be taken, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warnings.
  • Temporary suspension or termination of volunteer/employee status.
  • Legal action in the case of severe violations.

Violations will be investigated fairly and promptly, and those found in breach of this Code will be given an opportunity to explain their actions. Consequences will be proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation, and corrective actions will be determined by leadership in a fair and just manner.

Changes and Updates

Globalgood reviews this Code of Conduct on a regular basis to ensure it reflects current laws, organizational values, and ethical best practices in nonprofit leadership and community engagement. Updates may be made to address new standards, operational realities, or stakeholder feedback.

Any revised versions will be posted on our official website and will indicate the date of the latest update. Where changes are significant, we may communicate directly with relevant individuals and entities. We encourage all members of the Globalgood community to consult the most current version periodically and uphold the highest standards of conduct at all times.
